Create hairpin lace by winding yarn around the prongs of the hairpin to form a series of large loops held together by a row of crochet stitches worked into the center. The strips are joined with a crochet hook to make shawls or bed covers. The plastic keeper helps prevent the work from sliding off the  prongs.
